Downtown Charleston is opening it’s doors. While it’s lovely to spend an afternoon strolling through the historic streets of downtown Charleston, wouldn’t it be so much better to tour the hidden gardens and favorite rooms? You could try and befriend the whole city, or you could support the Historic Charleston Foundation by attending the 63rd annual Spring Festival of Houses & Gardens, March 18th – April 17th. Neighborhood tours will include the likes of East Battery, South Battery, South of Broad, Legare Street, Meeting Street, Rutledge St, and King Street. Each tour will include 7-10 homes featuring the architecture, history, gardens, personality and general grandeur of the Charleston home. You’ll see homes whose walls saw the Revolution and survived the Civil War–not to mention pristine Victorian styles.
