The REDy to Wear Party is more than just masked fun…. It’s the kickoff party to raise awareness about the need for trained, skilled artisans in America, particularly Charleston.
The proceeds benefit the American College of the Building Arts. The ACBA educates and trains artisans in the traditional building arts to foster exceptional craftsmanship and encourage preservation.
Local artists including Jeff Kopish, Max Miller, Leigh Magar, Mary Edna Fraser, Charles Ailstock, David Boatright, Kate Stevenson Long, Lese Corrigan, William Bates, Ann Darby Parker, Susan Marlowe, Patrick Pelletier, and Kevin Harrison have all designed unique, playful, and lavish masks that will be auctioned off during the party.
Bid on the feather adorned masks to sweet grass or metal made masks and everything in between! All artists will also be on site at the event to meet and greet.
What you need to remember: REDy To Wear will be taking place THIS Thursday, October 8th, at the Rebekah Jacob Gallery from 6pm-9pm. It is FREE and open to the public.
Don’t forget…. The REDy to Wear party is a precursor to a larger event later in October, The Red Party. Proceeds will also go to the ACBA. It’s a perfect opportunity to don a mask from the REDy to Wear auction in cocktail attire and mingle at the Old City Jail. For tickets and information on the upcoming Red Party (October 29th), please call 843-577-5245 or visit the ACBA website at www.buildingartscollege.us.
Hope to see you all there!
